Overall, Byte’s efficiency is quite high. Typically, the results are provided the evening after the interview, followed by scheduling the next round. Three rounds of interviews were completed within a month. All three rounds were conducted in the evening in Shanghai.
As the interviewee was for a frontend position, the first two interviewers were senior frontend engineers, and the third round was with the Hiring Manager. Each round consisted of a 5-minute self-introduction, a 20-minute discussion on frontend basics (covering a wide range of topics), and less than half an hour for coding questions.
For the first two rounds, the interviewees were asked to create easy to medium difficulty questions using JavaScript. The Hiring Manager requested a merge sort or quick sort implementation.
