In the first round, due to the host living near headquarters, the request was changed from a phone interview to an onsite interview.
The interviewer was a Chinese guy.
The task was actually quite simple: create a design on CodePen and have an overlay animation when clicked.
The host set up the framework completely but got too caught up in details, ending up with no time to write JavaScript.
In the additional round, interviewed by a frontend manager in New York.
Video interview (originally wanted an onsite but the manager was in New York).
There was an empty div at the top.
Below, a bunch of letters - clicking a letter would move it into the div.
It was really a simple exercise.
When the host reached 90% completion, the interviewer mentioned the limited time, so a shortcut was taken instead of using JavaScript as originally planned, and CSS was used instead.
The host felt the interview went well.
Waited for three days and received a rejection letter today.
