Frustrating Front-End Interview Experience at Databricks

Just finished the first round of data brick interview, which was a front-end system design. The experience was very poor. The interviewer lazily introduced themselves and then started the interview directly. Unfortunately, there were no classic questions. The task was to design a music playlist that allows multiple users to collaborate, including functions like adding songs, removing songs, rearranging songs, and real-time updates of others’ changes.

My personal experience was similar to what was described in this post. The interviewer had a very indifferent attitude, provided no guidance throughout, and even asked some back-end design questions. While communicating with him, he kept adjusting his curly hair in front of the camera and rolling his eyes from time to time. I didn’t know if he was actually listening to me attentively. The responses during the question session were also very unenthusiastic, truly leaving one speechless.
