Google (YouTube) Virtual Onsite

Sharing the interview experience with Google and YouTube. Received a referral email in early January but didn’t apply immediately. Applied for three positions at Google at the end of January through the referral link in the email. Two resumes were rejected, and one interview was scheduled. Google HR inquired about other interviews, mentioned having an offer from another company, hoping for a quicker process here. HR went on a trip to Africa, lost contact for a while, then contacted me two weeks later, expressing interest after receiving my resume from someone else. Transitioned from interviewing with Google to YouTube (same company) in a somewhat confused manner. By the end of March, Google HR mentioned no need for an onsite interview due to another offer, moving directly to the final stage. However, no positions were available at YouTube, so I was redirected back to Google after a series of events. The interview process at Google can be lengthy, but results are relatively quick. The YouTube office is nice, and the food is good. Concerns about safety due to past incidents were alleviated by strict security measures. During the interview, the option to write on a whiteboard or on a computer (not compiling, just an editor) was given. Chose the whiteboard after practicing whiteboard writing for months. Clarify input-output before solving problems, write pseudocode, test with an example, then write actual code and test again. Best of luck with interviews and finding your dream job.
