Interview Experience at Adobe Frontend

The interview was for a group discussion, providing a data point for reference. Two years ago, I applied online once, but no one responded for several months. Later, when a recruiter contacted me, I had already changed jobs, so we chatted and politely declined to proceed, mentioning that I planned to switch jobs before considering further opportunities.

A few days ago, another recruiter reached out, and this recruiter was particularly friendly, we had a good chat, so I thought, why not give it a try after two years.

The first round was purely discussing experiences with the hiring manager, introducing ourselves, and asking each other questions. I mainly asked: 1. What’s the situation like in the team? 2. What are the main tasks in the team? 3. The position is described as full-stack, but I am purely a frontend developer and have no experience with Java, is this a concern? (The response was that the position is 80%-90% frontend, as long as I am willing to learn, it’s fine) … The questions from their side were quite normal, focusing on past experiences.

Then, I passed to the next stage, a panel interview, considering there was no phone interview before, I wasn’t sure if it was the final round…

A total of 5 rounds, each lasting 45 minutes.

In summary, for a senior position, the questions were quite simple, no design questions, it all depends on performance, attention to detail, and culture fit. The hiring manager mentioned that the results will be shared next week.

After that, I searched online hopefully for the salary of a senior computer scientist, but my heart sank (checked on this site’s h1bvisa database, it’s really low). Any experts here from the interview process willing to confirm if those numbers are accurate? If they are lower than what I currently have, then what’s the point of all this effort. The position is also not listed on Levels, so I am unsure how to benchmark it against software engineer positions.
