Feedback on the recent Coinbase frontend interview process:
The process lasted over a month due to time zone differences. Initially, HR took some time to confirm visa-related issues. There were a total of 5 rounds:
- Casual chat with HR.
- Writing a UI component in React on a platform similar to CodeSandbox.
- Onsite round where a zip file containing a project was provided. There were 6-7 test cases that needed code modifications to pass all of them.
- Onsite round with the engineering manager focusing on past experiences, projects, and behavioral questions.
- Onsite round on system design, which was different from the general ones. It did not involve designing server databases but focused on frontend issues like folder structure, API calling, and data storage on the frontend. The interview process allowed for ample time for each round, leading to discussions on general frontend topics during the performance.
