LinkedIn had 1 phone interview and 7 onsite rounds. After a day, my throat was sore.
Phone Interview (1h):
First half hour discussing projects and some JavaScript-related knowledge. Second half hour writing JS code.
Onsite:
- Product & Technical Taste round: Pure discussion on your favorite products, why you like them, any improvements for LinkedIn, etc.
- Behavior round: Talked with the hiring manager. Similar to behavioral questions at other companies.
- Lunch round: Heard it doesn’t affect the result, just casual questions. I met a nice person during this round.
- Three coding rounds: One designing a scroll bar, involving CSS. Two pure JS rounds, writing functions. Experience in these coding rounds was not good, interviewers were disrespectful. After the interview, mentally blacklisted LinkedIn.
- System design round: Design a frontend feature, focusing on user flow and data flow.
Overall, compared to other frontend interviews, LinkedIn’s interview emphasizes JavaScript and frontend knowledge. Can’t share interview questions due to a confidentiality agreement, but make sure to check online interview experiences! Very helpful!
One more thing, LinkedIn confirms the interview details with you the day before the interview. So, if you haven’t received confirmation in advance, don’t worry, that’s their style.
